I want to be very clear - sometimes I get paid.
That might seem like an odd concept to have to share. But the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) wants to make sure that it is very clear for everyone. And the reality is if you don't make sure that you have transparency they can come in, shut you down, fine you etc.
I am going to be using a service called cmp.ly to make sure I am abundantly clear in all areas, so that I am in compliance. To be really honest I have not been fully in the past. I did not know for example about the twitter rules, or FB ones, only the blog and email rules.
Basically anytime, anywhere is covered by the FTC.
So here are the basics.
When you purchase a class or a product from Pagan Lesson Plans - I will get paid. I do have a business relationship, because I am the person behind the name.
Some of my links that I share may take you to affiliate links. An affiliate link means that if you go to a business via my link, and then purchase something, I get a percentage paid to me. I get paid for the referral to them. It is a much cheaper way for a business to get advertising.
I do have an affiliate account with:
Amazon.com
1800prepare.com
American Family Safety
Tiny Prints
Heirloom Organics
So what does that mean? Well let's say you click on an ad on the site, to buy seeds. Then you purchase the seeds, spending $50. Then I get a credit to my account for 10% of that purchase - or $5.
Here is how you will know if what I write, could pay me money. First of all - just accept the fact that, yes I may suggest things that if you purchase I will get paid. Second look for the following links:
http://CMP.LY/4/NkMGrX This means it is my content, and that if you purchase it, I will get paid.
http://CMP.LY/0/GoZ1zL This means it is just a plain old opinion, no money exchange of any kind happening.
http://CMP.LY/5/CwIheE This means that I do have an affiliate relationship with something in here, I could get paid.
http://CMP.LY/2/opL98F This means someone gave me a sample to try, so I would try it and talk about it.
I have no idea on how to add an individual disclaimer to the banner ads I have included here, Just know that the only banners allowed on the site, would be there because (a) I believe in the product or service and (b) I could get something (probably money) from promoting it instead of my own products.
Other than that I will be adding the codes to the bottom of each article I write and you will be able to see right up front. Here you can find more about the links I am using (and you may want to sign up for your own work too) http://www.cmp.ly/home
Lastly please know that yes like you I need money to pay my bills etc. However I am more interested in value. I am cheap, practical and love a good deal. I am not interested in purchasing "crap" or wasting money. And I am not interested in you doing that either - I never have believed in a "quick buck" instead I do believe that honesty and quality and value are what matter. That is my goal with all of the work I do - regardless of which hat I am wearing.
And if you have ANY QUESTION about this, please feel free to use the contact tab and ask me. I want full transparency because you deserve it!
